Why use Pointcare CM4?
The MCHIP technology found in this equipment is a unique and complex innovation that takes its roots from aeronautic space technology. With rigorous and continuous testing, the Pointcare CM4 has emerged as a strong contender for unparalleled accuracy and reliability among analyzers, despite its smaller throughput.
At the core of the analyzer is a portable spectrophotometer. The optical system consists of a xenon arc strobe lamp and a beam splitter/detector capable of reading nine wavelengths. A heater maintains the disc at 37 ± 0.2 °C during the reaction portion of the analysis. Reagent discs were developed based on microfluidic technology. This is an 8 cm diameter consumable containing all the diluents and dry reagents needed to perform various tests. The disc contains 30 cuvettes filled with diluted plasma or diluent. Cuvettes have different path lengths to accommodate different reagent sensitivities and analyte concentrations. Pre-measured lyophilized reagent beads for each chemistry in the panel are placed in cuvettes during manufacture. To perform a battery of tests, the operator applies approximately 100 µL of whole blood directly to the disc. Using centrifugal and capillary forces, the disc weighs the required amount of blood, plasma, and diluents.
It also separates red blood cells and mixes liquids, dispenses liquids into reaction cuvettes, and mixes reagent and diluted plasma. cuvette. The analyzer simultaneously monitors reactions using nine wavelengths, calculates results from absorbance data, and displays results on a screen and a convenient thermal roll-to-roll printer.
